What is the pre-listing process like if we want to sell our home this Spring?

This is a great question as we approach the Spring real estate season, and it’s a pretty common question among soon-to-be sellers. Pre-Listing activities are key to a successful home sale. Before your home is listed, there is a considerable amount of work that goes into preparing it for sale.

  1. Seller Needs: An agent will first meet with a seller to understand their needs and discuss next steps. An agent also keeps in close communication throughout the selling process.
  2. Comparables: An agent will research comparable properties in your neighboring area, and gather all information needed for listing including home features, lot size and property tax information.
  3. Show Ready: Pre-listing also ensures a home is show ready for market. An agent will give suggestions for decluttering, improvements or staging that will make your home more desirable.
