Autumn is fast becoming a popular time to sell homes. Summer will always produce the highest real estate transactions, however, Fall tends to see more serious buyers and faster transactions.

If you’re planning to sell in the Fall and you are serious about selling before the snow flies, here are a few ideas to make your home more appealing and more attractive to those Fall buyers.

  1. Seasonal curb appeal

Use potted flowers such as mums and marigolds to brighten your front exterior with reds, yellows and oranges. You can dress your front step or front door area with a Fall foliage wreath, a few pumpkins and gourds and even some seasonal pillows/throw on your outdoor furniture if you have it. Don’t underestimate the power of creating an inviting atmosphere – many people love visual cues to help them picture a house their home.

  2. All the Fall smells

Draw them in with freshly baked pumpkin bars, apple cider or other Fall snacks. Or buy store bought for ease and light some Fall scented candles in a few rooms.

  3. Set the Mood with Music

When buyers enter the room, music will help them feel welcome and relaxed. Play classic, light music like piano, violin, etc.

  4. Clean the Windows

This one is easy, but it can often get overlooked. Buyers don’t want to see smudges, dirt and dust on windows. It is one of the first things a buyer will see when they are touring your home. You want your home looking clean, bright and full of light.
