The Crow Wing County housing market is continuing to improve. The strength of the housing market is dependent on the number of foreclosures an area is impacted with. For the month of November there were 21 foreclosures in Crow Wing County. The good news is that according to Kathy Ludenia, county recorder, the number of pending foreclosures has dropped significantly.
18 notices of pending foreclosure were issued in November in Crow Wing County residents, which is down compared to the 32 that were issued this time last year, and the year prior to that there were 38. November of 2011 there were a total of 22 foreclosures and in November 2010 there were 34. It is easy to see we are trending in the right direction. With pending foreclosures decreasing it shows that the overall foreclosure numbers we will see in coming months will be lower.
To date this year we have had a total of 333 foreclosures in Crow Wing County with one more month pending. In 2011 there were a total of 369 foreclosures for the year and 388 foreclosures in 2010, which marked the highest number of foreclosures in Crow Wing County history.
Nationwide one in every 728 homes was in foreclosure in November, which is down 3 percent from the previous month. When compared to November of 2011 foreclosure rates were down 19 percent. This is another indicator that nationwide the housing market is making a comeback.
