Crow Wing County Jobless Rate Drops

jobs The unemployment rate in Crow Wing County dropped in October to 4.1 percent, the lowest we have seen in 2014. In fact, the last time numbers were this low in the county was back in 2006 according to the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development. The jobless rate did increase slightly in November which is expected during the seasonal period.

The biggest change in unemployment was seen in Brainerd which was at 15 percent in January of this year, and ended September and October at 6.9 percent. Throughout the state of Minnesota November’s jobless rate was 3.7 percent, the lowest thus far this year.

As the unemployment rate continues to drop consumer confidence increases. It is also typical to see an increase in home sales at the same time.
