About: Join us Thanksgiving morning to take part in the annual Turkey Run on November 26, 2015. This annual 5K run / 1 mile walk will benefit the Shriners Hospitals for Children. Starting location is Northland Arboretum.

Community Thanksgiving Day Dinner

About: Free turkey dinner at American Legion, Post 255. All are welcome. Delivery if needed. Donations accepted. Put on by the Brainerd American Legion, ELKs, Eagles and VFW.
Sertoma’s Winter Wonderland
5:30PM-8:30PM
About: Breathtaking lights, reflecting off of the sparkling white snow and strung into captivating displays will delight visitors as they drive through the Sertoma Winter Wonderland. This spectacular holiday tradition includes a driving tour of more than 80 colorfully animated lit displays. These are sure to add a sparkle of excitement to the eyes of families throughout the Lakes Area as they awe over the intricate presentation of lights.

Fish House 5k Run/Walk

About: The race starts and finishes at the Aitkin County Fairgrounds. The course in on the Aitkin Walking Trail which runs through the streets of Aitkin and the city park. The 5k route has been certified by USA Track & Field.

Sherwood Forest’s Holiday House

About: Get the kiddos and join us in Santa’s Workshop: Cookies from the Iron Waffle to decorate, hot apple cider and cocoa for the kids, craft stations and Santa will be there! Please bring a toy/donation for Christmas for Kids! Toy wrapping stations will be on-site. Adults can enjoy a drink, eat and be merry!

Nisswa City of Lights

About: Nisswa welcomes the holiday season with a countdown to lighting up the town that culminates with a fireworks display on Friday, November 27. The downtown area lights up all at once at 5:30 pm, with holiday lights adorning trees and fences, stores and other buildings. Festivities for the annual event begin in the afternoon with horse-drawn wagon rides, live reindeer, storytelling, food merchants, bonfires, hot cider and donut holes at the Pioneer Village and holiday carolers. After the countdown to turning on all the lights, Santa Claus makes an appearance and fireworks shoot up over town at 7:30 pm.

Light Up Downtown

About: Annual “Light Up Downtown” Christmas event will begin in downtown Brainerd at 1 p.m. and go until 6 p.m. Activities include horse and trolley rides, the arrival of Santa, pictures with Santa and goody bags.
