The colder weather of fall is here and the Crow Wing County scenery is beautiful as the leaves are turning colors and falling from the trees. The housing numbers from the Greater Lakes Realtors Association are in for September for Crow Wing County and it was a great month.
The chillier air of September did not slow down the housing market. The number of closed sales was up 9.7% over last year and the number of pending sales was up 2.8% showing us that there will be another increase in closed sales in the months to come.
Homes are continuing to sell for more in Crow Wing County and are spending less time on the market. The median sales price rose 4.9% to $160,000 over last year and the average home sales price rose by 6% to $209,512. The number of days that sellers are seeing their home on the market has dropped 31.6% over last year. The average days on market dropped from 180 to 123. Not only are homes selling more quickly, but the percent of original price received is higher. Sellers are receiving 91.9% of the original price.
We are still seeing a decrease in listings. The number of new listings was down 15.9% over last year, and the number of inventory homes for sale is down 13.5% over last year.
