The housing market is continuing to recover from the housing burst we experienced a few years back. Low mortgage interest rates and still low home prices have made those who have always dreamed of owning their own vacation home in Crow Wing County a reality. According the National Association of Realtors (NAR) 2013 Investment and Vacation Home Buyers Survey, which includes both existing and new-home transactions from 2012, vacation home sales were up 10.1 percent to 553,000.
“We had a strong stock market recovery, which helps more people in the prime ages for buying vacation homes,” Lawrence Yun, the association’s chief economist, said in a statement. “Attractively priced recreational property is also a big draw.”
Vacation-home sales accounted for 11 percent of all transactions last year, which remains virtually unchanged from 2011.
It only makes since that the vacation home market would be rebounding as the overall real estate environment is improving. The overall economic climate in the United States is growing and we are seeing a rise in travel expenditures. Americans are looking to vacation once again and many are looking for a standing vacation spot to get away to.
